Gar Alperovitz, Lionel R. Bauman Professor of Political Economy at the University of Maryland, is co-founder of the Democracy Collaborative, an organization developing sustainable wealth democratizing approaches to local and system-wide change. A former Legislative Director for Earth Day founder, Senator Gaylord Nelson, he has been a Fellow of Kings College, Cambridge, Harvard’s Institute of Politics, and the Institute for Policy Studies.
