Shirley K. Sneve, a member of the Rosebud Sioux (Sicangu Lakota) tribe, is the Executive Director of the Lincoln, Nebraska-based Native American Public Telecommunications, whose mission is to advance media that represents the experiences, values, and cultures of American Indians and Alaska Natives. Her many former roles include: Director of the Arts Extension Service, a national arts service organization; founder of the Alliance of Tribal Tourism Advocates; Director of the Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science Visual Arts Center in Sioux Falls; Assistant Director of the South Dakota Arts Council; and Minority Affairs Producer for South Dakota Public Broadcasting. Shirley has also been an adjunct professor in Native American Studies, and serves on the board of The Association of American Cultures (TAAC), the Native American Journalists Association (NAJA) and the Arts Extension Institute.
